On June 23, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) took the unprecedented step of listing the organization’s headquarters at 150 E. Pine Street in Missoula, Montana for sale—without any notice or consultation with Adventure Cycling members and supporters.
This historic building, purchased 35 years ago and now fully paid off—including major expansions and renovations—was made possible through the generosity of Life Members, major donors, and countless contributions from the membership at large. It is more than just a building—it is a symbol of the shared mission, history, and values that have sustained Adventure Cycling for decades.
🚨 Why We Are Concerned
The decision to list the building for sale was made without transparency or prior communication with the membership.
The building is a core part of Adventure Cycling’s identity and community presence in Missoula, the United States, and even the world.
The building is a unique asset which can be leveraged for many purposes, including offices, exhibits, gatherings, rental income and more. The fact that it is practically cost-free makes it an even more valuable asset.
The Board’s unilateral action disregards the voices of Life Members, past leadership, and the broader Adventure Cycling community.

Immediately withdraw the property listing for 150 E. Pine Street.
Engage in an open dialogue with the ACA community, including Life Members, former staff leadership, and the membership at large.
