Below are two documents, posted as .pdf files.
The first is a letter that was sent to John McDermott, current president of Adventure Cycling’s Board of Directors, on November 21st, 2025, outlining several irregularities with the voting procedure used by the organization’s membership to vote for or against the sale of the headquarters building. The way the voting procedure was structured appears to violate several Montana statutes governing not-for-profit organizations, and as a result undercuts members’ rights.
The second document is titled Adventure Cycling: Rebuilding for the Next 50 Years. This document, which outlines various solutions to the challenges the organization currently faces was developed by Save ACA members, and was delivered to the Board of Directors on August 16th, 2025. It’s a lengthy read; it details where we feel Adventure Cycling got off the track, and offers ways the organization could regain its footing without resorting to strategies such as disposing of one of ACA’s core assets. This document generated no comment from the Board.
When an offer was received for the organization’s headquarters building, the Board quickly went ahead with a vote of the membership, which has now been completed, and appears to violate Montana law and Adventure Cycling members’ rights.
As the Board stated that the vote would be announced by December 10, please send your email to them as soon as possible.
